Manaiakalani Film Festival 2012 - School Is Cool

In Term 2 we were learning a lot about movie magic, and how movies can influence our world. We created many movies. We started by brainstorming key messages we could include in our movies.

We also made a movie that explains how to plant kumara. It was really fun to do. We created this movie to inspire people to learn how to grow their own kumara.

Our movie for The Manaiakalani Film Festival is called 'School Is Cool'. We made it to share all of the cool learning and fun that we have at school.
Our movie was also shown at the Tamaki Primary Academy Awards. We created a PMI about Movie Magic and shared what we liked, what was challenging and interesting.

Faith and Ma'asi Guy Fawkes

As fireworks and stars danced in the dark, dark blue sky, I felt excited because I could see the colorful curtains that draped over the sky, the laughter of our loved ones, different emotions on everyones faces, but most of all the enjoyment of our loved ones.

I could hear furious explosions of fireworks that lit off a booming sound in the darkest of time, the cheering voices of our family as their body’s filled up with amazement just as if they were watching a rugby game from stools up in a stadium.

I could taste the bitterness of smoke that drifted through out the air, but the smell of B.B.Q was like an alarm that told me it’s time to rest. With a plate of food resting on my lap, I look out the crystal clear window and reflect on all the enjoyment we all had.

TWO BOYS WHO WENT FOR A SWIM

WALT-write a narrative story based on our artwork.

One day in a small village there were two boys.Their names were Mark and Jack. Jack said to Mark, ”Put your togs on now we’re going for a swim at the beach”. When they went outside they both said ”it is so hot out here”. After that they walked up the hill. When Mark got up the top of the hill,  he jumped off and shouted ”WOW!”. When Mark got out of the water, he yelled to Jack.”That was fun”. When it was Jacks turn he jumped off and he shouted ”WOW!”.Mark was waiting for Jack. When Mark went in the ocean he looked and looked for Jack, but  he still couldn’t find him anywhere.

When Mark got out of the water, he looked for his phone and dialed 111. Jack was still at the bottom of the ocean. When the ambulance came , two people from the ambulance swam all the way to the bottom of the ocean as fast as a speeding car. They found Jack struggling to stay alive. They untangled him and dragged him back to the shore.

They took him to the ambulance as fast as they could When he woke up he was  happy to be alive. The doctor gave him a drink of water. The doctors told Jack to stay with Mark at home until he feels better and to not forget to take your medicine. When he felt better they decided to go to the pools instead of the beach.

They played happily and safely for ever.

This story is about two boys who went for a swim.
